Majors supplement
their degrees with educational activities outside of the classroom.
The Political
Science Student Association receives funding from the Universitys
Student Organizations Association to support activities related to the
study of political science and international affairs. The PSSA supports
guest forums and debates, as well as preparations for Model United Nations,
Model NATO, and Mock Trial conferences and competitions.
Prelaw students
have organized an undergraduate chapter of Phi
Alpha Delta, a national law school fraternity. PAD members sponsor
informational programs, tours of law schools, visits to the campus by attorneys
and law school professors, and preparation sessions for the Law School
Admission Test. The group has also been involved with Mock Trial competitions
at which students play the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a simulated
courtroom dispute and are judged by practicing attorneys.
Political science students can also qualify to join Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
Contact
the Undergraduate Director for information about these activities.
