The Diplomatische Akademie and the University of Cincinnati Dual Degree Program provides the opportunity for students admitted into the DA's diploma or MA program to spend one year in Vienna at the Academy and then complete either an MA or PhD in Cincinnati. The first year of work in either the diploma or MA program at the DA will count toward the UC degree allowing a student to complete the DA Diploma and UC MA in a total of two years or the DA MA and all doctoral coursework and exams in three years.

Students must first be admitted into the Diplomatische Akademie. They apply to the department at UC during the Fall/Winter of their first year in Vienna.
