Department Funding
The department funds a limited number of its graduate students to assist in their pursuit of degrees. Students applying to the department who wish to be considered for department funding must have their completed application packet to the department no later than January 15 for September admission.

The department funds students with outstanding potential and maintains that funding typically for three years when students continue to make substantial progress through the program. There are three forms of funding:

University Graduate Assistantships – full tuition waivers, plus approximately $10,000.

Taft Graduate Enhancement Fellowships – full tuition waivers, plus approximately $2,500.

University Graduate Scholarships – awards covering 90% of university tuition.

The Department of Political Science is also a designated Charles Phelps Taft Memorial Fund recipient. Our advanced graduate students receive grants to support research and travel, conference participation, and workshop training. The department awards one Dissertation fellowship each year of approximately $15,000.

Further information about graduate study at the University of Cincinnati can be found at the University of Cincinnati Graduate School website. This site also contains links to information that should be of special interest to international students.
