At the undergraduate level, the Department administers majors in Political Science and International Affairs. Majors belong to the Political Science Student Association, the national political science honor society Pi Sigma Alpha, the undergraduate chapter of the national law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta, and have participated in Mock Trial competitions, Naval Academy Conferences, and Model United Nations simulations. Special programs include honors, independent study, internships, credit for approved field projects in the metropolitan area, and competitive congressional internships in Washington, D.C. Before declaring a political science major, students should have completed three 100 level courses in the department with a grade of C or higher. Majors must complete a total of 63 hours in required and elective courses with no less than a 2.0 grade point average in the field. |
